According to the United States Census Bureau, it has a total area of 7.4 mi². None of the area is covered with water.
Corbin lies in the Cumberland Plateau region of Appalachia in southeastern Kentucky. The Pine Mountain Overthrust Fault, a geologic fault system located several miles to the east, produces occasional tremors.
Corbin is located close to the Cumberland River and the site of the last remaining waterfall to feature a Moonbow, similar to a rainbow but only appearing at night because of the light of the moon.
Corbin Kentucky is located just off I-75 a major north-south corridor between Lexington Kentucky and Knoxville Tennessee.

As you can see in the photograph Corbin Kentucky is located slightly east of Laurel Lake, an Army Corps of Engineers lake, which makes Corbin a popular tourist destination.
The CSX Rail Road system is clearly visible as a large gray area to the east of town.
Much of Corbin's heritage and history is closely tied to the railroad and companies like L&N, and CSX.
